I hooked up my Facebook status feed to my Twitter page that should keep most “followers” happy with minimal work on my part. To inaugurate, I posted a twitterpoem of less than 140 characters, which I grandly entitle “Tales of the Database Scientist”:
i flirt with hordes of entities,
runtimes and complexities.
relations are for databases;
i negotiate in times and spaces.
What other people have to say:
Did the same.. added one on my blog too (not the fugly batch but sortta hacked it into a one liner.. this is a short writeup about it.. though you need to be on the main page to see it.)
Am trying to find something similar for Orkut.. but still not successful with that, tried writing it myself but got lazy.
Hi, i see using people twitter widgets for blog marketing as for updated content, can really atract to google bot and other search engine the twitter widget on the blog as fresh content ?
Any advice will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Andy Colleman
Sridhar, I don’t think OpenSocial has an equivalent of Facebook’s Users.setStatus() yet. I’m assuming you want to write to Orkut, not read from it. Maybe send a request to the Orkut app on facebook to implement this?
Andy, I tried really hard to understand your question, unfortunately I’m unable to comprehend. Reforumlate, please?
@arnab: Yes, I know. Orkut has something to post to friend’s stream.. so I was thinking more in terms of having a simple one liner app(that is the frontend for the app) that shows the twitter status and pushes the status to the friends stream. Unfortunately I suck at js (mostly because I hate it) and all I can do is hack some existing js code.. and no existing app I know pulls feeds in some form… but who know, if I am bored enough on a weekend.. I’ll conjure something up :)
