The venerable Atlantic Monthly asks women to settle:

But when I think about marriage nowadays, my role models are the television characters Will and Grace, who, though Will was gay and his relationship with Grace was platonic, were one of the most romantic couples I can think of. What I long for in a marriage is that sense of having a partner in crime. Someone who knows your day-to-day trivia. Someone who both calls you on your bullshit and puts up with your quirks.

I’m posting this for two reasons. The obvious and selfish reason is that articles like this make life easier for us tired, confused, victimized men to deal with the current generation of idealism in women. The other reason is that I have more than a handful of friends who are making this decision; and it is always fun to provide more data points to foul up the important life decision process.
