um...

Regarding Maya, the spam harvester trap that I've set up; I forgot to add that I didn't write the script I'm using. While I did have a related idea about thwarting spammers (who happen to be sending about 60-70 junk emails every day to my TimepassTown.com inbox), I discovered a host of spam harvester traps that people have written in various languages. If you would like to contribute your bandwidth and set up a trap on your website, pick up a script from here. Be careful though. Make sure you properly configure your robots.txt file to stop the well behaved indexers like Google, etc.

die spammers die

A link for all those spam harvesters indexing my site. Feel free to link to the maya pages - they're an infinitely large simulated site which a spam indexer can traverse for hours, and thus break its back, overloading itself with countless bogus email addresses.

open source paradox?

Project Mad Hatter is a linux-based desktop solution by Sun Microsystems. What is funny is that while Mad Hatter flaunts Ximian Evolution as their PIM/Mail client and StarOffice as their office suite;
Ximian also happens to sell a desktop with Evolution and the open-source sibling of StarOffice, OpenOffice.org. Two companies selling each others' products - this only happens in the Open Source world.

superfast snobbin'

Brought back the blogsnob ad to the linkage column. It's incredibly fast loading this time around - because the ad is loaded on the server side using php, instead of javascript. If you're a BS member and your blog pages support PHP, you can substitute the adcode for this:

<? @include("http://blogsnob.idya.net/ad5.php?type=plaintext&id=XXXX")
?>

1337 h4x0r h4NDh31Dz!

First you had NetscapeOne. Then came SunOne. Then RealOne. And now, ladies and gentlemen, some idiotic marketing department in my favourite PDA company has decided to rename the outfit to PalmOne! This is WAY too ridiculous! Like someone on /. said - it sounds
like a suggestion: "Hey look! look at those abandoned PDAs lying around! You think we should Palm one!?"
